Ruby Raid is one of those games that immediately pulls you in. It’s a fast-paced, side-scrolling arcade shooter where you’re basically on the run after stealing a sacred ruby from the Eye God—and yeah, it really doesn’t take that lightly. From the second the chase kicks off, you’re sprinting forward, dodging traps, blasting enemies, and just trying to stay alive for as long as you can while scooping up gems along the way.

What I really like about the game is how smoothly it blends different mechanics. You’ve got platforming, constant shooting, and a steady stream of weapon upgrades, all wrapped into a simple, browser-friendly experience. As you keep playing, you unlock a bunch of new weapons, and honestly, that’s what kept me coming back. There’s something really satisfying about finally getting a stronger blaster and cutting through enemies that used to slow you down. If you’re into quick arcade runs with simple controls but a real sense of progression, Ruby Raid absolutely hits that sweet spot.

Outstanding Game Features

Ruby Raid keeps things straightforward, but it never feels boring. The gameplay is fast, energetic, and easy to get into:

A side-scrolling escape where you’re constantly moving forward
28 unlockable weapons, including some seriously powerful futuristic blasters

A gem system that lets you buy and upgrade your gear

Waves of enemies like Eye God followers and temple guards

Trap-heavy environments that test your timing and reflexes

Quick-restart runs are perfect when you just want to jump in for a few minutes

How to Play Ruby Raid

Every run starts the same way: you’ve grabbed the ruby, and now the Eye God is out for revenge. From there, it’s all about how long you can survive.

As you play, you’ll:

Run through side-scrolling levels packed with enemies and traps

Jump over gaps and dodge obstacles

Shoot anything that gets in your way

Collect gems scattered throughout the run

Use those gems to unlock better, stronger weapons

Since the game never really slows down, I found that getting the timing right—knowing when to jump and when to fire—makes a huge difference in how far you get.

Game Controls

The controls are super simple, which is part of the charm:

Jump to avoid hazards and gaps

Shoot to take down enemies

That’s it. Just two actions, but it still feels intense and engaging the whole time.

Advice and Techniques for Making Further Progress

Ruby Raid is rather simple to learn at first, but it requires a little more concentration and practice to last longer.

Here are some things that I was able to get better at:

When you can, go for gems because they are essential to obtaining better weapons.

To prevent attackers from building up, keep firing as you move.

When you anticipate challenging areas, begin your leaps early.

To increase your weapon collection more quickly, replay early runs.

During strong enemy waves, maintaining composure is far more beneficial than hurrying.
